The Beginning

From Community to Hosting

From the online community Virtualcityonline.de and the radio station charthitzradio.de, some of Germany’s first 24/7 online radio streams were born. To keep them running smoothly, the first in-house servers went online in Königslutter.

Founding of VCServer Network

Marcus Hoffmann establishes the sole proprietorship VCServer Network. The name originates from Virtual City – and thanks to the existing community, the hosting services grow rapidly.

Transition to a Partnership (GbR)

Rüdiger Hoffmann joins as a co-partner, and the company is restructured into VCServer Network GbR.

First Data Centre Location

Data Centre in Hanover

The systems are moved into the first in-house colocation environment at a data centre in Hanover – providing space for up to 100 servers.

Launch of the company’s own small data centre at its headquarters in Königslutter, offering space for up to 250 servers.

Recognised Training Company

Marcus Hoffmann obtains his instructor certification, and VCServer Network becomes an accredited training company recognised by the Braunschweig Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

Conversion to a Limited Partnership (KG)

After Rüdiger Hoffmann’s retirement, VCServer Network is converted into a limited partnership (KG). Sabine Hoffmann joins as a limited partner, while Marcus Hoffmann remains the general partner.
